Legend by Marie Lu is the most amazing book you will ever read. This awesome book tells a story about two teenages that would never have a reason to meet, until June’s brother is murdered. Day is the prime suspect. This Book throws twists and turns at you when you least expect it.

    Throughout the book Marie Lu takes you to both Day’s and June’s perspectives by writing from both of their heads. The Characterization in this book is Great. June is the smartest girl in her school with a perfect score on her trial. A test that everyone in the republic must take when you turn ten. No one else has ever gotten a perfect score. Mary Lu takes you into her head and really makes you see her point of things.

“ You know.....if  you took me along on some of your missions I’d probably learn a lot more and stay out of trouble.”

“Nice try. You're not going anywhere until you graduate and get assigned to your own patrol.” Says Meatis

When Metias finally speaks again, he sounds grudgingly curious. “So tell me” he whispers “How fast did you climb those 14 stories.”

“Six seconds” I whisper back.

June never stops wanting to do more than just learning. She want action.

    I realized  that when I really like a book I can’t stop reading it. I stayed up almost all night reading this book. When my bestfriend told me to read it I didn’t think I would like it, but it was amazing. When I was finished reading it I started wondering how it was possible for June to scale 14 stories of a building in six seconds. To me sounded impossible. But apparently it is not.

Everyone in the entire world should read this book!  I would definitely rate it a 10/10. The sequel, Patriot, is coming out in Fall 2012. I can’t wait! And you won’t either after you read it (I’m expecting you to)!!!!

Legend is a amazing book that is packed with suspense, action and sorrow at every turn! It is a little gruesome at some points. The book is about a boy named Day and a girl named June. June comes from the rich part of the Republic and Day is from the colonies. June is overcome by anger because of something that Day did. So she starts to track him.

I really like the suspense in the book. She keeps the reader wanting more after every page. Here is a good example of this.

Spies are usually shipped out to Denver, but if they're caught in a big city like L.A., we take them before the capitol dose. He’s hanging upside down in the interrogation room now. Commander Jameson has a pair of scissors in her hand.

 After I read that I realized just how strong the suspense is in this book.

Along with suspense there is a ton of action in the book. Here is a example of this.

What happens next is a blur. I see Metias tense up to fire his gun. I throw my knife him with all my strength. Before he can fire, my knife hits him hard in the shoulder and he falls backward with a thud. I don't watch to see if he gets up. I bend down and have the manhole cover up than lower myself down the ladder and into the blackness.   

That is one of the most intense parts of the book. Marie Lu did a great job on this book.

As I read this book I realized that even when you think that there is no hope left there is still a little to cling on to it  and make it grow. I usually don't feel a lot of feelings for the main characters I do feel some, but not a ton. But in this book I felt the characters a lot because there were so many things that happened that were so sad. But right after something bad would happen, a few pages later something reassuring would happen.

I would rate this book a solid ten! It was amazing and I think that the author should definitely write a sequel if she hasn't yet. If you like a lot of action, suspense and drama than this book is definitely for you. If you like these things but can't handle some sorrow I would not read this book.
